Burial will follow in the Bradley Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (8505 Bradley Creek Rd., Lascassas, TN)
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Hamptons Crossroads Baptist Church and again on Friday from 9:00am until time of services at the church.
Mr. Haynes passed away Monday, November 6th, 2017 in Centennial Medical Center in Nashville following a brief sudden illness.
He was born on February 19th, 1952 in Wilson County to the late Jesse Grant and Nellie Makon Adams Haynes.
James was in the ministry for over 42 years and was currently a member of Hampton's Crossroads Baptist Church where he served as the Pastor for 19 years. He graduated from Auburntown High School where he was the Valedictorian of his class. He graduated from seminary at Pacific Western University School of Religion with a B.S. of Theology.
He is survived by his wife, Sheva Haynes of Cookeville; sons, Nathan Haynes and wife Cindy and Robert and wife Olivia; daughter, Jennifer Goff and husband Mark; sisters, Nancy Stroud, Patsy Barrett and Shirley Reed; brother, Melvin Haynes and wife Dorita; grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Grace and Lucas Haynes, Caleb and Cassidy Goff, Chelsea, Abigail and Lauren Craighead and (coming soon) Rachel Ann Haynes; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lebecca Brown Haynes; sisters, Geneva Ann Haynes Jordan and Ruby Nell Haynes Goolsby.
Pallbearers will be Steve Lamb, Danny Johnson, Caleb Goff, Odell Whittenburg, Dennis Cunningham and Tony Fuller.
