Bonnie Lois Culwell, 95, went to her heavenly home, waking up with the Lord, on November 7, 2017. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Carl Culwell, Sr., brothers Danny Bales and Joseph Bales, and her beloved sons James Carl Culwell, Jr., and Jerry Monroe Culwell.

Bonnie was born on May 13, 1922, in Seminole, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, James Carl Culwell, on February 11, 1942, and together they raised their family in Texarkana, Texas. She was a member and pillar of the church community of South Texarkana Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas. Bonnie worked at Sears in Texarkana, Texas, for over 20 years, in both the children's and furniture departments. In 1992, Bonnie moved to Dallas, Texas, and resided in the Dallas area until her passing.

A woman of unwavering faith and the heart of the family, Bonnie shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example, and brought her love of the Lord to countless others during her lifetime, including the young married couples she taught at South Texarkana Baptist Church.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Robert Graham; grandchildren James Carl Culwell, III, and Lori Culwell; Bobby and Kristen Graham; Angie and Bill Pelfrey; Christina Culwell Wedding; Shane and Yvette Graham; Carla and Robert Carroll; J.C. and Jill
Graham; Jerry Culwell; Mary Anne Culwell, Jr.; and Bryant Nelson; and sister-in-law Carolyn Bales and nephew, Joseph Bales.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren Brittney Johnson, Lacy Pollins, Hollie and Tyler McEwee, Hannah Culwell, James Carl Culwell IV, Wolf Wedding, Jenna Peace, Jacey Culwell, Ryan Satterfield, Courtney Culwell, Shelbie Graham, Ryan Graham, Lane Graham, Cade Wedding, Dolph Culwell, Brennan Graham, and Braden Graham.

Bonnie is also survived by great-great-grandchildren Paxton McElwee, Hudson McElwee, Brennan Pollins, and Aubrey Peace.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p. m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Texarkana, Texas.
Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. There will be no visitation prior to service.
