Vera Archer McGinley age 96 of Loudon passed away Monday, November 6, 2017. Vera retired from the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge where she worked as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents, L. L. Archer and Inez Russell Archer; brother, John M. Archer; sisters, Gladys A. Slagle and Helen A. Cole. Survived by her sister, Jena Broyles of Maitland, FL; several nieces and nephews. Vera’s family wishes to express their appreciation to Kindred Nursing Home in Loudon for their compassionate care, especially Donna Teeter. Family and friends will gather at Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 11th for graveside services. Pastor Johnny Walker of Norris will officiate. Johnny and Shirley Walker are appreciated by the family for being such faithful friends and caretakers of Vera for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pat Summit Foundation.
