Francis was born on October 11, 1951 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette to the late Leroy and Nellie Zahn.
He graduated from Wainwright High School in 1969 and after graduating Francis proudly served in the Marines from 1970-1975 where he earned the rank of Sargent. In 1970 he married Linda Winger and later divorced. He worked for the Journal & Courier and Rural King.
Francis was the father of David Blickenstaff and two had twin grandsons, Braden and Bradley Blickenstaff.
Survived by his son David; grandsons Braden and Bradley Blickenstaff; two sisters, Royetta (late John O’Maley) and Amanda Zahn; brother Nelson (Vicki) Zahn; nephews Joshua (Caitlin) Zahn, Aaron (Charrisa) O’Maley, Jeremiah (Leslie) Zahn; three great nieces, Ella, Cheyenne, Savannah; one great nephew, Kaden.
Francis was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Linda Blickenstaff; parents, Leroy E. and Nellie L. Zahn; brother-in-law, John W. O’Maley; his best friend David Moore.
He was a strong-willed man, but he so loved his Mother (Nellie) and his late ex-wife (Linda)
