OBITUARY HUNTINGTON DAILY NEWS L. Viola MOUNTAIN, 97, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, formerly of Saxton, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, at the home, following an extended illness. Born July 29, 1903, in Milton, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Ellen E. (Smith) Weidenhamer. She was united in marriage to Paul G. Mountain Oct. 13, 1930, in Harrisburg. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1990. Two sons, G. Richard Mountain of Hollidaysburg and John P. Mountain of Akron, Ohio, survive, along with four grandchildren, two step- grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Mrs. Mountain was preceded in death by five brothers: Ellis, William, Edward, John and George. She was a life member of the Saxton United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Saxton Chapter No. 161, Order of the Eastern Star. A graduate of the George I. Geisinger Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, she was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Altoona before her marriage. She also belonged to the school's alumni association. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will be made in the Grandview Cemetery, Saxton, R.D.
