HARVEY, Lillian Lila - September 3, 1923 - October 16, 2010. Lillian departed this life peacefully, at home, at the age of 87. Beloved wife to Leslie. Cherished mother to Ron (Susan) of Calgary, Blane (Susan) of Fenelon Falls, and Bill (Deborah) of Sault Ste. Marie. Devoted grandmother to Blaine Leslie, Stephanie, Michelle, Mark, Michael, Johnathon, and Derek and great grandmother of Darrin, Emily, Sarah, and James. Dear sister to Nancy Hamilton. Predeceased by her brothers Ron, Les and Tom. Lillian will be fondly remembered by her family. Born and raised Lillian Bertram in Waga Waga, New South Wales, Australia, Lillian came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Over the following 65 years Lillian enjoyed a loving committed marriage, joy in family, and lifelong good health. She derived great pleasures from her passions for handicrafts, sports, gardening, travel and nature. The family would like to thank the staff at the Peterborough Manor, the Palliative Care Unit of the Peterborough Regional Health Center, Hospice Peterborough, and the personal support workers of the Nightingale Nursing Registry for their kind and gentle care. A Celebration of Lillian's life will be held at the Peterborough Manor Chapel, 1039 Water St. on October 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
