The Philadelphia Inquirer, Friday Morning, May 31, 1946, has a news item (dated May 30) reporting that "Carlton J. Balliett, Jr., of the public relations department of the Bethlehem Steel Corp., and former associate editor of the music section of Time magazine, died early this morning ... at his home in Lower Saucon township, a Bethlehem suburb. Mr Balliet was a native of Buffalo and graduated from Yale in 1929, majoring in music. He went with Time magazine in 1930, where he remained until 1942, when went with the Bethlehem Steel Corp. He is survived by his wife and two children."

His grandfather William D Balliett, #73792358, (1845-1928) is buried in Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, Niagara County, New York.
