Burial services for Mrs. Florence Bashford Spensley, a former city resident who died Thursday in a Minneapolis hospital, will be held at Forest Hill cemetery Monday at 10 am. Born in Madison, Mrs. Spensley lived here until about 20 years ago when she moved to Minneapolis after the death of her husband to live with a son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll K. Michener. She was the widow of Frederic Calvert Spensley.
Mrs. Spensley was the daughter of Judge Robert M. and Mrs. Florence Taylor Bashford, Madison, and the granddaughter of William R. Taylor, Wisconsin's governor from 1874 to 1876. She attended the University of Wisconsin where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, and married the late Mr. Spensley in 1874.
Survivors area son, Robert M., Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Michener, Minneapolis, and four grandchildren, Irene and Calvert Spensley and Mary and Frederick Michener.
Funeral services were held in Minneapolis Saturday. The body was brought to the Frautschi funeral home here where friends may call tonight.
