Barbara R. Abate, a retired office worker, died Tuesday at the Plymouth House. She was 72.

Mrs. Abate, of Plymouth, had worked at Carver Foundry of Fairfield Village, in the County of Montgomery Controllers Office in Norristown, and also at Victory Medals, formerly in Plymouth.

She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and making teddy bears.

She was the wife of Joseph R. Abate.
Born Nov. 23, 1932 in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James and Bertha (Eckman) Luton.
She is survived by her husband, and brothers Kenneth Luton, of White Bear, Pa., and Charles Kelley, of Black Horse, Pa.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at he Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton and Township roads in Plymouth.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Moore and Snear Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St. in Conshohocken.
Her obituary was published in The Times Herald, on Wednesday, December 22, 2004.
