Marcel M. Blanchette, 81, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Bristol, widower of Jean (Thibodeau) Blanchette, died on Wednesday (October 12, 2005) at in Ocala, FL. Mr. Blanchette was born in Chartierville, Quebec, Canada. He was a longtime Bristol resident where he worked as an auto body repairman before retiring, and has resided in Ocala since 1987. He was formerly a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Palos Council # 35 in Bristol. Mr. Blanchette is survived by a son, Marc Blanchette of Waterbury; two daughters, Denise Sturgeon of Bristol, and Sandra Blanchette of New Smyrna Beach, FL; three sisters, Fernande Poisson, Emilienne Allaire, and Donalda St. Laurent, all of Quebec, Canada; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joel Blanchette in 1984. Funeral services will be held on Friday (October 21, 2005) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
