Maurice loved God, and this resulted in a special kind of love, patience, and kindness that he brought to his family; indeed, all who had the honor of knowing him were deeply blessed by his testimony.
Survived by his wife of sixty years, Imogene Brotherton; daughter, Donna Marie Criss and husband Roy of Maysville, OK; son, Gary Dean Brotherton and wife Pat of OKC; daughter, Kathy Lynne Tullis and husband Ben of OKC; one brother, Carl David Brotherton and wife Peggy of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Brotherton; one brother, Layton Brotherton; sisters, Lenora Tipple, Wanda Brotherton, and Marion Russell; granddaughter, Kelly Blevins; and grandson, Ryan Criss.
Maurice was a member of Southwest Baptist Church for fifty years and its treasurer for thirty years and a member of the 'Real People' Sunday School class. A veteran of WWII, Maurice served three and one-half years in the U.S. Navy. Maurice owned and operated Brotherton Garage in Oklahoma City for over fifty years.
