W. Sparks Smirh, 60, died at 8:45 o'clock last night at his residence, 622 Duncan Avenue, after a nine days' illness with pneumonia.
He was a blacksmith for the Georgia Southern and Florida railway.
Besides his wife, who was Miss Mamie Broach, he is survived by three children, Roy, W. S. and Rosa; sister, Mrs. C. A. O'Neil; niece, Mrs. G. S. Wasner and several nephews.
He was the son of John I. Smith and Elizabeth Newsome Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Methodist church.
The funeral will be held at 5:30 o'clock this afternoon at Hart's chapel, Rev. J. W. Ballard, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be A. S. Grovenstein, L. C. Clark, C. B. Campbell, R. J. Croom, A. H. Epps and C. J. Brice.
