Casey Patrick Badgley, much loved son of Kelli Anne Badgley Renshaw and step-son of John Renshaw went to be with our Lord on February 21, 2013. He leaves behind his beloved Nanny and Grandpa Linda and Steve Badgley, his special Aunt Amy Badgley, his step-sister Brie Anna and the love of his life, Danelle Curry.
Only God knows for sure why Casey was tragically taken from his family and loved ones, but his family takes comfort in the sure knowledge that he is with God and those of the family who went before him in that special place that was created for all who believe in the Son. Casey committed John 3.16 to heart when but a small child and carried that verse with him throughout his short life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Casey knew why Jesus went up on that cross and that He carried our sins with him to be washed away by his blood.
Casey was highly intelligent and graduated at the top of his Class at Whitehall Yearling High School in 2005. He was a member of the Honor Society and awarded the Presidential Excellence Award. Casey loved sports and participated in baseball, football and golf. His senior year he was selected 2nd team all MSL in golf. Casey first sports love was baseball. He started out playing T-Ball in the Whitehall Youth Diamond Sports organization. He developed into a first baseman and an excellent pitcher in both the local leagues and the traveling teams. In Casey’s last two games as a Pony League pitcher, he struck out 11 batters in one game and 14 batters in the last game.
Casey was also a member of the Whitehall Packers youth football team and played football in high school his Freshman year, but chose to give up football for Golf team in which he excelled. Casey always had a competitive nature and no matter what type of competition he was in, he would give 110 percent to come out on top.
Casey was a perfectionist and he would complete every task given to him. If he didn’t know how to perform a certain task, he would study it and figure out how to accomplish it and would not be satisfied until it was completed correctly. Casey excelled in mathematics and was given a scholarship to The Ohio State University School of Engineering, but through series of unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, he was unable to attend. He always had hopes of going back to school and obtaining a degree and was working towards that goal.
Casey was a very special person...a real pleasure and comfort to his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
