Warren Kiser was born July 2, 1859, in Allen County, Indiana and passed away at his home in Delphos, Kansas, December 17, 1946 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 15 days.

He came to Kansas from Indiana with Peter King in a covered wagon in 1878 and settled on Pipe Creek east of Delphos.

He was one of three children and a sister, Mrs. Frank McGlaughlin, of Puyallup, Wash., survives. Another sister, Mrs. Orlinda Kline, preceded him in death.

On July 31, 1881 he was united in marriage to Clara Adelia Colton, who passed away February 18, 1945. To this union five children were born, Orlinda Barnes, Grace Copple, Edwin W., Fredric A., and John N. Kiser, all of Delphos. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his children and sister, 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews besides a host of friends.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Delphos and of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 149, the activities of which he always greatly enjoyed especially in his last years.

"Uncle Warren", as everyone called him, had a full life from pioneer childhood to a ripe old age, always ready to help anyone who needed help.

My Father
"Author of my being, the furnisher of my name, the protector of my infancy, the counselor of my youth, the advisor of my manhood; - he who best understood my frailties – who was proudest of my successes and most sorrowful in my reverses; - a friend without self interest, and a guide whose leading was always toward the right – my Father."

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church and were conducted by Rev. Daniel H. Mergler, assisted by Rev. H.G. Feldmann. Music was furnished by a quartet from Lamar consisting of Mrs. T.E. Cooper, Mrs. Loris Motter, Robert Stewart and Reuben Thomas with Mrs. Reuben Thomas at the piano.

Pallbearers were six grandsons; Charles Barnes, Harold Kiser, Grant Kiser, Arthur Copple, Basil Kiser and Wayne Kiser. Four great granddaughters were flower bearers: Phyllis Maxine Kiser, Rowena Wilkins, Louise Barnes and Louise Kiser.

Burial was in the Hall Cemetery and the grave service was conducted by the Odd Fellows. Funeral arrangements were by the Hartley Funeral Home.
