Ambrose Blair, 11, died in faith at his home in Warrensburg on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.

He was born on April 3, 2006, in Columbia, to Trenton and Sandra. He was home-schooled and in the sixth grade.

Although Ambrose was on this earth for 11 short years, he lived a fulfilled life. He enjoyed working on his grandparents’ farms – especially when there was John Deere machinery nearby to help him get the job done. He learned how to create, film and edit his own Lego movies simply by watching online tutorials. Family, above all, was the most important thing to Ambrose. His 9-year-old sister, Cheyenne, was his best friend, and he took every opportunity he could to spend time with her.

Ambrose was an old soul. He was mature beyond his years, and remained humble, grounded, and joyful in the face of adversity. He exemplified the phrase, “love one another.” He held steadfast to his devotion to Jesus Christ, which gave him peace during uncertain times.

Ambrose is survived by his parents, Trenton and Sandra; his sister, Cheyenne, all of Warrensburg; paternal grandparents, Bill and Brenda, of Potosi; maternal grandparents, Michael and Patricia, of Warrensburg; uncle and aunt, James and Amy, and cousins, Austin, Ethan and Owen, all of Lexington.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Grover Park Baptist Church, 409 N Mitchell St., with Pastors Brent and James officiating. Interment will follow the service in Garden City Cemetery, Garden City. Family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

If Ambrose had one wish, it would be that every child had a loving family, just as he had. In honor of his life, consider making a contribution to Samaritan’s Ministries-Special Needs Adoption Fund. This is an organization that has not only assisted Ambrose’s family with health and medical support, but also provides an adoption fund network, so that children with special needs can be connected with the loving family they deserve. Checks may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home.
