Rosalia Margaret “Sally” Anderson age 93, of Carrollton, Missouri, formerly of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Carroll House in Carrollton. Sally was born July 14, 1924, in Tipton, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph W. and Corrine (Brant) Dick. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1942. After high school she worked in various secretarial positions in the Tipton and Sedalia area. She attended business school in St Louis where she met her future husband David (Andy) Anderson of Carrollton. They were married in Tipton, on April 21, 1948. In 1952 they purchased the Sinclair Service Station in Norborne and moved there in the fall of that year. They lived in the same home until the fall of 2009 when they moved back to Carrollton. She was a housewife and homemaker, an active 4-H leader and taught knitting to several generations, young and old. Noted as a good seamstress, she was tasked to make the official flag for the Norborne Centennial. She served as Egypt Township Assessor and Collector. She was a long-time member of St Anne’s Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post #551 of Norborne. Survivors include her children: Bob (Connie) Anderson, of Prairie Village, Kansas; Ron (Nancy) Anderson of Fayette, Missouri; Laurie (Charlie) Gotsch of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Greg (Denise) Anderson of Carrollton; and Mark (Barb) Anderson of Camdenton, Missouri; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Cherise) Anderson of Highland Ranch, Colorado; Chris Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri; Noel (Misha) Anderson of Maize, Kansas; Becky (Matt) Keeney of Hoover, Alabama; David (Meghan) Anderson of St Louis, Missouri; Kristi (Kevin) Kenealy of Nevada, Iowa; Amanda (Jesse) McCreedy of Hills, Iowa; Lauren Anderson of Carrollton, Sean (Cassie) Anderson of Kansas City, Kansas; and Rose Anderson of Chicago, Illinois. She also was survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents and two brothers, Irving J. Dick and Hilary H. Dick. The family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Church of Norborne, or American Legion Auxiliary Unit #551 of Norborne in memory of Sally. Memorial contributions may be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main, P. O. Box 190,Richmond, MO 64085. Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne; visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
