Edith was the daughter of Frances "Frank" Merrick and Rhoda Eliza Stickney.

On May 19, 1886 in Haverhill, MA she married James Augustus Cosgrove, son of James Augustus Cosgrove Sr and Sarah Ann Pearson.

Their children were Margaret Elizabeth, Ella May, Isadore "Dora" May, Sterling Augustus, Gertrude Eva, and Ethel E.

They divorced around 1910.

About 1912, possibly in NH, she married Charles Atwood Sheldon, son of Thomas Sheldon and Jeanette Jones. It was his 3rd marriage and her 2nd.

They had a daughter, Isabelle.

They lived in Kingston and Danville, NH.

She was predeceased by husband, Charles, on May 6, 1942 in Danville, NH; daughter Ethel E. Cosgrove on May 9, 1906 in Gloucester, MA at 4yrs 6mos 5dys from burns; son Sterling Cosgrove on May 21, 1956 in Plaistow, NH; daughter Dora May (Cosgrove) McCallum on July 6, 1918 in York, ME from childbirth; and daughter Gertrude (Cosgrove) McCallum on Nov 29, 1943 in the Cranston Rhode Island Mental Institution. Her 1st husband, James, died on May 14, 1959 in Rowley, MA (even though they were divorced she was listed as his spouse).

Edith was living in Raymond, NH when she died at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.

Age: 85yrs (per death certificate)
Age: 87yrs (per other records)

Cause of Death: Pneumonia - Stone Impacted in Common Bile Duct - Chronic Cholelethiasis

Note:
Her 1st marriage in 1886 listed her as 14 years old (born 1872). The 1880 census lists her as 8 years old. Her death certificate incorrectly lists her birth as Mar 25, 1874, which would have made her 12 when she married.

Both Charles's & Edith's death records said they were buried in North Cemetery, Danville. This is the only one I've seen referred to as North Cemetery so I hope they are in the right place.
