He was a graduate of Ithaca High School in 1949 and the Rochester Business Institute in 1951. He married his wife in 1953. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1955.
Mr. Alexander had a 44 year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and earned several awards.
He was president of the local American Cancer Society.
He is survived by his wife; two children; his mother, Mary Alexander of Ithaca; two sisters; nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral Home, Whitesboro and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
