Leo Arthur, 85, of Red House, passed away Friday November 17, 2017 at his home.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Shell and Amma Dell Cottrill Arthur, eight brothers and sisters.

He was a graduate of Poca High School, where he was on their 1st State Championship football team in 1950. He loved talking about his football days, and loved watching his grandsons play the game.

Leo served his country in the Korean War with The United States Army. After serving he worked for Good Rich Gulf and retired as a millwright local 1755 for over 30 years. He was a member of the Teays Valley Presbyterian Church for the last 31 years.

Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years: Frances Harmon Arthur; daughter and son in-law: Mary Arthur Harrah and Dr. Gregory Harrah; grandsons: Blaine Arthur, Matthew Simpkins and fiancé Cassie Painter, Jon-Michael Simpkins and wife Michell Witt Simpkins; sisters in-law, Fuzzy Arthur and Mary C. Harmon Rollyson; brother in-law: Bill Harmon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Arthur will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with Pastor Tim Sigman and Pastor Jeff Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Memory Gardens, Red House WV with Military Honors provided by the James E. Marshall American Legion Post #187, Winfield.

Friends may visit from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
