Gladys Skinner Jones, 89, of Kinston passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Harmony Hall. Gladys was retired from Dupont with 30 plus years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eugene Jones; parents, Clyde and Helen Skinner; son-in-law, Harold Kinsey Smith; sister, Marie Ervin Chadwick. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Dr. George Tomlin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service. Burial will be held following the funeral service at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy Smith of Trenton, Jane Davis and husband Russell of Goldsboro, Melinda Boone and husband Arthur of Beaufort; grandson, Harold Kinsey Smith, Jr. and wife Jill of Wilson; great-grandson, William Grant Smith and fiancée Kourtney Allgood; sister, Helen Ruth Clayton and husband Kenny of Trenton. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
