MICHAEL LUKE CALARCO

Michael Luke Calarco's story began on June 29th, 1955 and this chapter came to an end as he passed in peace, Wednesday November 15, 2017 surrounded by his family and several close friends at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Michael was the son of the late Pasquale and Frances (Castellano) Calarco and the loving brother to Kathleen (John) Miller, Patricia (Michael) Adams, Jeffery (Christine Shear) Calarco, and Mary Jo (Ronald) Hurtt.

His fairytale really began when he met and married the love of his life Jamie (Macri). Together Michael and Jamie had three children, Nina Calarco, Christina (Adam) Wawrzyniak, and Michael (Angela Scalzo).

He was also the beloved, "Poppy" to Mikaela, Maximus, and Marco Wawrzyniak. Michael also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Michael was truly in a class of his own. He was gentle-hearted, compassionate, loyal and never missed the chance to help out those he loved and even some he did not know.

Michael was a very proud member of the U.A. Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 22 where he spent many years working for John W. Danforth. He worked alongside some amazing men that he was proud to call lifelong friends.

Michael was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He would spend each fall down at hunting camp a tradition he shared with his grandfather, his son, and his beloved friend Butch.

Michael has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University at Buffalo so there will be no traditional arrangements.

A mass to celebrate Michael's life will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Peter's R.C. church, 630 Center Street, Lewiston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael's name to St. Peter's R.C. Church Renovation Fund.
