Billy Acton Jr., 45, of Hereford and formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Steve Cairns of San Antonio officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Acton was born in Amarillo where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1972. He was a caseworker for the Texas Workforce Commission and previously worked for Southwestern Public Service Co. at Nichols Station.

Mr. Acton was active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and was a Christian. Three years ago, he moved to Hereford where he was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Billy Doyne Acton III Ware of Amarillo; a daughter, Lizzie Acton Ware of Amarillo; his parents, Kathryn and Bill Acton Sr. of Hereford; a brother, Barry Acton of Amarillo; two sisters, Lorraine "Tootie" Sandoval of Hereford and Cindy Acton of Lubbock; and two grandchildren.

The family will be at 6407 Hatfield. They suggest, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Billy Acton Jr. Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 19065, Amarillo, TX 79110.
