Rufus B. Pollard Jr. 28 Aug. 1934 Ð 17 Mar 2007 Poppie, transitioned this life on March 17, 2007 in a Boise hospital after a brief illness. A Viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. The youngest son of Rufus Pollard Sr. and Catherine Huff Pollard, of Kansas City, Missouri. Poppie was born in Marshall, Missouri, the township of Sweetsprings, on Aug. 28, 1934. Reared in Kansas City, Missouri until an adult where in he joined the military. Rufus served 26 years with the United States Air Force retiring in the city of Mountain Home, Idaho, in 1982, with his wife of 35 years, Myrtle Darlene; who preceded him in death in May of 1993. Born to their union were four children, Christina, Steven, Carlton, and Rufus III. Very active with the Prince Hall Masons and the Order of The Eastern Star, Rufus was a Past Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter Officer. Holding different positions in the local Lodge Ð Sabre lodge #7 and Alfred E. David Chapter #8 OES of Mountain Home, Idaho. Left to mourn his passing are his four children; one daughter, Ms. Christina L. Walker, of Mountain Home, three sons; Steven A. of Baltimore, Md., Carlton E. of Boise, Idaho and Rufus III and his wife Kelly of Mountain Home. Blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
