He was a Sergeant in the 1st European Bengal Fusiliers at the time of the India Mutiny. He died in 1869. Buried at sea. Ellen Dearnally was born in Armagh Ireland. Ellen Campbell and her mother fled India for Liverpool England. She came to America in January of 1872. She immigrated to Galveston that same year and married Marion Smith Stines.
