The family of the late Daphne Charlotte McLean are saddened to announce her passing on Monday, September 24th, peacefully with her family by her side at the TBRHSC. Daphne was born on November 6th, 1923 in Penticton, B.C. She remained in B.C. until she joined the RCAF in 1944 where she met Cecil Angove, whom she married in 1945, settling in Fort William. Cecil passed away in 1966. In 1968 Daphne married William McLean and they celebrated their 39th anniversary this past August. Together they spent many summers out at Loon Lake. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She especially enjoyed watching them play in the little red boat. Daphne is survived by her loving husband William; sons Rod (Wendy) Angove, Rick (Kathleen) Angove and Dave (Sandra) Angove; daughter Linda (Bart) Santorelli; step-sons Allan (Hazel) McLean and William (Vikki) McLean; step-daughter Lois (Jamie) Macready; 12 grandchildren Lisa, Erin, Rob, Mark, Jolyne, Doug, Justin, Samantha, Michael, Jana, Laura and Colin as well as her sister Joy Ward. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Gerald and Esme Mead, her first husband Cecil and her brother Gerald. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27th at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church beginning at 11:00am. Interment to be held at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.
