Obituary for Albert F. Scheu Jr.
Albert F. Scheu, Jr., 72, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
Al was born June 21, 1945 in Evansville to the late Albert F. and Thelma (Lawrence) Scheu, Sr. He had worked at Bristol Myers Squibb before retiring in 2003 after 36 years of service. Al was a longtime member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the St. Philip Men’s Club. In his younger years, Al spent time coaching his children’s athletic teams and more recently enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. He loved the New York Yankees and Mater Dei athletics. Al also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and bowling.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Patty (Goedde) Scheu; a daughter four sons, sisters, a brother, grandchildren, and a grandchild to be born in January of 2018.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Scheu; by an infant brother and by an infant sister.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
