Claude Larry Clemson, 74, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Born May 8, 1943, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of Paul Clemson and Margaret Baker Clemson.

He graduated in 1961 from Staunton Military Academy, Virginia. Later he joined the Army, serving his country for 8 years including two tours in Vietnam. He was decorated with the Bronze Star.

He loved his work as a farmer and a rural mail carrier. He enjoyed working around the farm, caring for his pets, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Clemson. He is also survived by his daughter Susan Thomas and her husband Mark of Bedford, PA; daughter Diane Margaret Clemson Schaefer and her husband Stephen, of Cedar Park, TX; stepson Leo Charron and his wife Mary, of Myersville, MD; stepdaughter Catherine Delp and her husband Ty of Carlisle, PA; and stepdaughter Michelle Mele and her husband John of Ellicott City, MD. He has ten grandchildren: Chase Webb, Maura Catherine Thomas, Madison Harper and Joseph Paul Clemson Schaefer, Kyle Charron, Brittany Clemens, Abigail and Tyler Beam, and Stella and John Augustus Mele. He is also survived by his sister Yvonne Thompson and brother James H. Clemson, as well as his sister-in-law Patricia Clemson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Paul H. Clemson, Jr. and his brother-in-law Alfred Thompson.

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. Internment will follow immediately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made at Western Maryland Chapter, 108 Byte Drive, Ste 103, Frederick, MD 21702.
