On November 24th, 2017, Danny Ray Taylor was received into the arms of Jesus.

Born in Beckley, West Virginia, he was the son of Grant Ulysses Taylor and Mary Ellen ( Wickline) Taylor. Having grown up in Allen Junction, he lived most of his life in the Beckley area. Danny worked as a coal miner and was a licensed electrician. As a miner, he was a local union leader and his concern for and support of miners continued until his death.

In his healthier days, Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for fishing and hunting were superseded only by his love for his one and only child, Angelia Taylor Mullins. Never a day went by without his mentioning her.

Everyone who knew Danny would readily admit that he would literally "give the shirt off his back" to anyone in need. If Danny was your friend, you had a loyal friendship. A 1968 graduate of Mullens High School, he enjoyed reuniting with old friends at the Mullens Senior Center.

In addition to Angela Renee', wife of Edmond Mullins, he is survived by his granddaughter, Holly and great granddaughter. Bella, brother Dr. Franklin Delano Taylor, Sr. and his wife, Patricia Anne (Moore) Taylor, Jacksonville, Duval County, FL, sisters, Shirley Ann Taylor, Yulee, Nassau County, FL, and Ruth Danese(Taylor) Collins and her husband, Robert "Bob" Chester Collins, Sr., Middletown, DE, 15 wonderful nieces and nephews, one of whom he thought of as a brother, Dr. Chuck Combs, Denton, TX.

Danny was preceded in death by brothers, William Ransome Taylor, Charles Jackson "Jack" Taylor and his wife Geneva (Workman) Taylor, Thomas Waldron Taylor and his wife Esther (Shrewsbury) Taylor, Simpson Grant Taylor and Grover Robert Taylor and sisters, Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Elliott and her husband, James Elliott and Virginia Lee (Taylor) Meyers and her husband, Robert "Bob" Dale Meyers.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Tankersley Funeral Home in Mullens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the National Adrenal Disease Foundation (NADF).
