Annis, eighty years old, one of the well known farmers of this community, died at Epworth hospital in South Bend at 11:30 oclock Tuesday morning. He had been ill for the past several months and was taken to the hospital ten days ago for treatment. Mr. Annis was a son of Josiah and Anna (Ream) Annis and was born July 13, 1862, in St. Joseph county. On December 27, 1888, he was united in marriage with Emma Balsley, who survives. Other surviving relatives are five sons, Walter Annis of South Bend, Arthur Annis of Rockford, Ill., Howard Annis of Waukegan, Ill., Ernest Annis and Foster Annis of Bremen; four daughters, Miss Ethel Annis of South Bend, Mrs. Timothy Radcliff of Indianapolis, Mrs. Ward Molebash and Miss Leah Annis of Bremen; one brother, Edward Annis of Linden, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Huff of Bremen, Mrs. Ira Troyer of Port Arthur, Texas, and Mrs. Mitchell Crothers of Plymouth. He leaves also seven grandchildren.
The body was brought to the Huff funeral home in Bremen, where friends may call until the time of the funeral service, which will be held at two oclock this afternoon at Grace United Brethren church. Mr. Annis had been a member of the church for many years. Rev. Roscoe Wilson of South Bend, assisted by Rev. E. C. Reidenbach of Bremen, will officiate in the service and burial will be in the Bremen cemetery.
