Jack Darrell Keicher, age 88, of Midway, passed away Tuesday at 1:39 PM at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 3, 1928, a son of the late Aaron and Cora Lee Bible Keicher.

He was a millwright at Enka/BASF and retired after 35 years of service. He was a farmer and loved gardening. Jack enjoyed camping and sports; he was an Atlanta Braves fan and loved NASCAR.

He was an active member of Sinking Springs Lutheran Church and at the time of his death was the oldest living member. Not only was Jack dedicated to his home church, he also attended Bibles Chapel Baptist Church regularly for Sunday night and Wednesday night services.

He was a member of the Mosheim Masonic Lodge No. 463 for over 50 years and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the former Midway Ruritan Club and Mohawk Ruritan Club and was a former President of the Greene County Council of Ruritans. He was a former member of the Midway Volunteer Fire Department.

His memories will live on to be treasured by his loving wife, the love of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Kathy McDaniel Keicher; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Kellie Sloane Keicher, Karen Jean and Gary Lowe, Barbara and Donald Denney, Sandra and Ricky Finkle; six grandchildren: Dylan Pruitt, Kayla Pruitt, Max Lowe, Charity Vogt, Amanda Gulley, and Keola Elobt; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother-in-law: Bert McDaniel; several nieces and nephews; his church families, and several special friends and neighbors; two special pets, his kitty cat: "Trigger" and KiKi the dog.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kimberly Shae Keicher who died in 1979; one sister: Dorcas Day; two brothers: Andrew Blaine Keicher and Frank Keicher.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sinking Springs Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Sauls and the Rev. Donnie Bible officiating. Interment will follow in Sinking Springs Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes before the service. The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday. A masonic service will follow visitation at 8 p.m. in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Finkle, Gary Lowe, Will Vogt, Donald Denney, Richie Cobble, and Kenny Cobble.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Sinking Springs Lutheran Church and Bibles Chapel Baptist Church and members of Mosheim Masonic Lodge 463.
