Delbert D. Applebee, 82, of Lostant, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Lostant with full military rites conducted by the Lostant American Legion. Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM Friday at Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant with a liturgical prayer service at 3:45 PM. Additional visitation will be 9:30-10:20 AM Saturday at the church.

Mr. Applebee was born March 15, 1935 in Mission Township, LaSalle County to Herbert and June (Bultman) Applebee. He was a graduate of Marseilles High School. He married Dorothy Comisky on February 13, 1960 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant.

Mr. Applebee was a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved telling the story about travelling to Germany to serve on the same boat as Elvis. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant. He enjoyed being a farmer and playing cards. His greatest joy was his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; four daughters, Tina Nevitt of LaSalle, Teresa (Kevin) Pape of Bolingbrook, Tami (Jeff Parker) Applebee of Yakima, WA and Tracy Daugherty of Lostant; seven grandchildren, Doug Nevitt, Leah, Timothy and Jesse Pape, Cathryn Bax, William and Sarah Daugherty; two sisters, Wanda Morsch of Sheridan and Vivian (Alvin) Knack of Toluca; one brother, Norman Applebee of Seneca and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce Bentz and two brothers, Kenneth Applebee in infancy and Gerald Applebee. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and sons-in-law.
