He was married on March 13, 1912 in Wilson County to Emma Julia Patton (1893-1981), the daughter of William Lee "Willie Red" Patton (1852–1917) and Mary Jane "Polly" (Cassity) Patton (1848–1894).
A rigger at DuPont Plant and living at 113 Wilmington Street in Old Hickory, Paul was 41 years old and married when he had an appendectomy on October 8, 1934 and died at home of an embolism on October 15th. Burial was on October 17th in Spring Hill Cemetery.
