B.J. was born on Sept. 4, 1931 in Union County Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jesse and Bertha (Gulley) Slaughter.
B.J. was a graduate of Texas Women’s University in Denton. While in college she entered a sweetheart contest where she met her husband Bob Allen who was serving as a judge. She married Bob on June 26, 1953, in El Dorado, Arkansas. It is said behind every good man is a greater woman. B.J. was that woman. She traveled with Bob as he worked as an engineer for International Harvester in Chicago, and later for John Deere in Iowa. The couple moved back to Valley Mills in 1984. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and supported her husband in many civic activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob and her son James Lee Allen.
B. J. will be missed by a great multitude of friends.
