Alice was born October 21, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Elmer and Leona (Grady) Barnes. She attended St. Boniface Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947. On May 24, 1952, she married Robert J. Sheehy at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Alice and Bob enjoyed many years traveling together, which included Ireland, Hawaii, Arizona and Florida. Bob preceded her in death April 3, 2017.
Alice retired from Manitowoc County - Social Services Dept. where she worked for many years; she later volunteered with the reading program at Reedsville Elementary School. Bob and Alice were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Maple Grove, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville, and Holy Family Parish of Brillion over the years. Alice was a longtime member of the Altar Society and Homemakers of St. Pat's; longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary; and was always very generous to many charitable organizations. Alice enjoyed sewing, baking, doing craftwork, and her flower garden; she especially loved to read and watch/listen to Mother Angelica on EWTN.
Survivors include her six children: Greg and Debbie Sheehy of Maple Grove, Brother Tom Sheehy of Tennessee, Joseph Sheehy of Manitowoc, Mike Sheehy of Reedsville, Mary Geigel of Manitowoc, and Patrick Sheehy of Branch; five grandchildren: Jessica Sheehy & special friend, Dave, Christopher Sheehy, Jennifer Sheehy, Ryan (Krystal) Sheehy, Kayla Sheehy; and one great-granddaughter, Bryar Rose. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Joan Sheehy and Darlene Sheehy, both of Reedsville; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Bob, she was also preceded in death by her sister & brother-in-law, Mary Claire (Justin) Mullins; and three brothers-in-law & two sisters-in-law: Alfred (Joanne) Sheehy, Harold Sheehy, Patrick Sheehy, and Eileen (Charles) Bernier.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Holy Family Parish, 1100 West Ryan Street, Brillion. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Timothy Brandt, with burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove.
