Memorial services for Renee Evon Idler, 66, Aberdeen, SD, are 10:30am, Friday, December 1, 2017, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pastors Samuel Bobby and Josiah Fitch officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Renee died Saturday, November 25, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

Renee Evon Frohling was born on August 26, 1951, to Walter and Mae (Anderson) Frohling in Britton, SD. Renee’s family lived on a farm near Hecla, SD, this is where Renee attended school. In high school she was in band and played the drums. She started working while in high school at Elmer’s Café. She graduated from Hecla in 1969. 

On February 7, 1970, Renee married Barry Idler in Longmont, CO. Renee and Barry were blessed with two daughters, Leah and Jessie. While in Colorado, Renee worked at Walt’s Patio, many years at a family drugstore, Bi-Rite Drug, and Storage Tek. Barry and Renee had a crafting business called Wood-N-Needle, where they specialized in wood work, needle work, sewing and paper maché crafts. Renee was very creative and especially loved crafting Christmas themed projects. For many years, they would set up a booth for Arts in the Park. 

In 2003, Renee and Barry moved to Aberdeen, SD. While in Aberdeen, Renee worked as an aid for Avera St. Luke’s Hospital and at 3M. Renee loved gardening; her family always appreciated her beautiful flower gardens. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed going to their events. 

Grateful for having shared Renee’s life are her husband, Barry; two daughters: Leah (Jason Hopfinger) Glover and Jessica (Brian) Rognon; four sisters: Phyllis Hochhalter, Betty (Ward) Gilchrist, Deb (Skip) Klapperich and Tammie (Robert “Bob”) Schweigert; one brother, Terry (Wendy) Frohling; one sister-in-law, Debby (John) Powell; and three grandchildren. 

Preceding Renee in death, her parents, Walter and Mae Frohling; her husband’s parents, Quentin and Mary Jane Idler; one brother, Jerry Frohling; one niece, Robyn Peterson; and one nephew, Michael Hochhalter.
