Born Feb. 1, 1948, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Bruce Harshbarger and Florence (Price) Feltenberger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant son, Christopher Harshbarger; sisters, Jane Druckenmiller and Mabel Yoder; and brother, Harold Harshbarger.
David is survived by: his wife, Emma H. (Colyer) Harshbarger, whom he married on Jan. 10, 1986; children, Diana Sue Hagenbuch, of Danville, David J. Harshbarger, of Lewistown, and Adam K. Harshbarger and wife, Kirstin, of Reedsville; sisters, Judy Corson and husband, Bill, of Lewistown; Linda Yetter and husband, Rick, of Alfarata, and Christine Spearing, of Lewistown; a brother, Randy Harshbarger and wife, Sue, of McVeytown; grandchildren, Evan Hagenbuch, Andrew Weaver, Jordan Hagenbuch, Harley Stryker and Brody Harshbarger.
David attended Chief Logan High School and earlier in life was employed at Marlette Homes.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, lawn care and working on cars. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and going to their ball games.
Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, Dec. 3 and from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4 with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Bill Stuter officiating.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
