She leaves behind her three children, Jason, Ricky and Nicole; her three grandchildren, Jaylyn, Max and Alexandria; her brothers, Ken and Jimmy; her sisters, Mary and Keiko.
Chico is preceded in death by her husband, Neil Akaba; her parents, Yoshio and Michiko Nehira; and her brothers, Sam and Susumu.
Chico was born in Tulelake, California on March 10, 1945.
She moved to Folsom in 1984 and has been a resident of Folsom for 34 years. Chico was actively involved with her community and spent a significant amount of her time volunteering and working for Folsom-Cordova School District. Chico also was very dedicated to her three children's sports events and supported the teams every way she could. From that, she was able to develop many lifetime friendships for over 30 years.
Funeral service will be held at Miller's Funeral Home (507 Scott St) in Folsom at 11am on December 9th, 2017. Chico requested to be cremated.
Her ashes will be interred at the Lakeside Memorial Lawn. A reception at Lake Natoma Inn will follow; all are welcome.
