Friday Caller, Plainfield, Indiana, January 31, 1913:

Several from here attended the funeral of Mrs. Samuel Sullivan at Stilesville, Sunday afternoon.

Republican, Danville, Indiana, January 30, 1913:

America Francis Rhea was born in Virginia in 1855. Here she grew to womanhood and January 13, 1881 was united in marriage to her neighbor sweetheart, Samuel Sullivan. In 1882 they moved to Nebraska where they made their home for several years coming to Indiana in 1889. To them were born seven children, two girls and one boy dying in infancy. Robert, Thomas and Joseph, all married and Walter, age 15, are left to comfort their lonely father. A sister, Nellie, and a brother, Joseph, of Nebraska are the only surviving members of her family. Mrs. Sullivan at the age of 15 became a member of the M. E. church but under the preaching of Bro. Spier a little more than a year ago, she with her husband united with the Christian church, of which she remained a most faithful member until the last. She loved her church relations, never missed a service, Bible class or society meeting if her health would permit. She had long been a sufferer from heart trouble, unable much of the time to attend to the duties of the home, her faithful husband taking all on his own shoulders. She will be missed but the tears do not fall for the thoughts of her future but for the loss of her companionship. Mrs. Sullivan fell asleep, January 24.
