James W. Jakubowski, 88, of Mountain Top, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 2, 2017, in the hospice unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Cowell Jakubowski.

Jim served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany and, prior to retiring, was the owner/operator of Just-Rite Pools.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 153.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his daughter, Susan Giddings; brothers, John, Miles, Robert and William; and a sister, June Coleman.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Spudis Jakubowski; a sister, Anna Zukowski, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top.

Interment will follow in Albert Cemetery.
