Susan Wynette Parker

April 6, 1969 - June 8, 2017

D'Iberville

Susan Wynette Parker was born and raised in Biloxi, MS graduating from Biloxi High School and attending MGCCC. She worked for many local businesses over the years, her last position was with Grand Casino. She endured a bout of Guillain Barre Syndrome which left her severely debilitated, but fought her way back and was enjoying life with her beloved dog, Sadie Grace. Susan Parker passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, in D'Iberville, MS at the age of 48.

Susan loved the south, her hometown of Biloxi and her cherished, lifelong friends. She gave of herself by listening when someone needed to talk, by helping in any way she could and by supporting those she loved through good times and bad. She knew that true friendship was not something you just talked about, it was something you worked at.

She loved cruising the Caribbean with Bob, wine night at Kim's house, and simple evenings around a bonfire with friends. She loved family gatherings at her parents' house and her dad's cooking.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Parker.

She is survived by her son: Devvon Penn Mitchell of Ocean Springs; her mother: Penny Hamill Parker of Bay St. Louis; her sister: Cheryl Parker Smith and husband, Adrian of Gulfport; and Bob Smyth of Ocean Springs.

Friends are invited to join the family Thursday, June 15, 2017, at St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport, MS, beginning at 3PM. The funeral service will begin at 4PM. A reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to GBS/CIDP Foundation International, 375 East Elm Street, Suite 101, Conshohocken, PA 19428, or online at https://www.gbs-cidp.org, to help others who suffer from Guillain Barre Syndrome.
