Funeral services for James Dalton Albritton, 97, of Cypress will be held December 8, 2017 at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Diboll. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Diboll.
Mr. Albritton was born October 25, 1920 in Diboll, Texas to the late Eva Jane “Eudie” (George) and Ira John Albritton, and died Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Cypress.
Mr. Albritton served in the United States Navy during World War II and later worked in the Service Department of Houston Natural Gas/Enron, from which he retired. He was a proud Navy Veteran. Mr. Albritton had a great sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and was very personable. He enjoyed telling stories about people and events from the past. He loved history and loved to travel all over the United States. Most of all he loved his family and neighbors and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Albritton was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Albritton El-Gamil and husband Alaa, and Cynthia Albritton; son, Charles Albritton and wife Peggy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 69 years, Grace Lorena Albritton; and siblings, Hugh Albritton, Eula Mae DuBose, Martin Albritton, Elsie Conner, and Ruth Albritton.
