Daughter of the late Lee and Betrie Hatfield Jackson, she was the widow of William T. Settles (married on July 4, 1936). Additionally, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vi Lyke and Virginia Saunders, and by three brothers, Herb Jackson, Chester Jackson, and by an infant brother at birth. She was survived by a son, William T. Settles, Jr. (Sharon); two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Beech Grove, IN.
