Charles Hoard
Funeral rites for Charles Hoard, 60, of 4210 Holton Avenue, who died of cerebral thrombosis early Tuesday morning at the Lutheran hospital, will be conducted Friday at 10 am at the Smith funeral home in Columbia City. Dr Charles Roberts of the United Brethren church will officiate, assisted by Rev Benjamin Smith of Fort Wayne. Burial will be in the South Whitley cemetery.
Mr Hoard was born in Whitley County and had lived here for 4 years. He was employed at the YMCA. He is survived by the wife, Augusta; three daughters, Alice at home, Mrs LeRoy Smenner of Fort Wayne and Mrs Robert Shriner of Columbia City; two sons, Glenn and Dr Charles Hoard, Jr, both of this city; a brother, A D Hoard St Joe Mo; and two sisters, Mrs Ethan Allen of Indianapolis and Lima, and Mrs George Hathaway of Sheldon, Ill
