John Colton Joorfetz, 69, died on December 10, 2017 at his home in Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Clara Watson Joorfetz, and a son, John Frederick Joorfetz, II.

Colton was born on March 24, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late John Frederick Joorfetz and Helen Smith Joorfetz. He grew up in Laurel, Mississippi where he attended R. H. Watkins High School. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a B. S. degree in Management and received an M. B. A. degree from Mississippi College.

He retired as General Supervisor of Logistics after a more than 30 year career with Delphi-Packard Electric. A longtime resident of Jackson, he was a Youth Sports Coach and an Assistant Boy Scout Leader. He was a veteran of the Mississippi Air National Guard.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, preceded by visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
