Alvin Finley Daubenspeck III, 84, of Cairo, WV, died December 12, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

He was born March 16, 1933 in Ritchie County, WV, the son of the late Alvin Finley Daubenspeck II and Estel Hanlon Daubenspeck. Alvin was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and has been retired for 22 years from Ashland Oil Refinery, Canton, OH with 38 years of service. While in Canton, he was a Boy Scout Leader and coached little league. He was a member of Hughes River Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter and son; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nye Boeshar Daubenspeck; sister, Betty Aukamp (Virgil) and brother, Lewis Daubenspeck.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Hughes River Presbyterian Church, Cairo, WV with Pastor David Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow in the Cairo Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville Saturday from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday from 12-1 at the church. Donations are preferred to Hughes River Presbyterian Church, c/o Treasurer Ivan Banks, 1074 Country Lane Rd., Petroleum, WV 26161.
