Edrie M. Phillips, 75, of 309 James Street, Henry, IL, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 1985 at her home
Born May 30, 1910 in McLeansboro, IL, to Charles Edward and Carrie Leda Casey Sinks. She married Jesse L. Phillips in 1906. He died in 1974. Also preceding her in death were two sisters.
They were active in farming and turkey raising for many years in the Magnolia and Putnam areas before retiring to Henry, IL in 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Lutes and Mrs. Eugene (Janet) Schoepke, both of Varna; one son, Jerry Phillips of Putnam; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Sinks of Bellflower, CA and Eugene Sinks of Bucklin, MO and several nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Henry United Methodist Church and many church and community organizations.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ries Mortuary in Henry. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Henry Methodist Church, the Rev. Wesley Kersh officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Henry Methodist Church, the Henry Ambulance Fund, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.
