Sarah Edna Hagan, 95 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after an extended illness. Mrs. Hagan was born in Thomas County, Georgia on September 2, 1922 to the late Ruben B. and Mary NeSmith Wilson. She was married to R. Julian Hagan of Thomas County on September 21, 1940 who preceded her in death on February 22, 1990.

Mrs. Hagan has been a resident of Quitman since 1957 when the family relocated from Ochlocknee, Georgia. She worked for a number of years for the Brooks County Board of Education and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Quitman where she served for many years as a Children's Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Patsy & John Stalvey and Judy & Laurie Storey, and a son and daughter in law, Wayne & Nancy Hagan; five grandchildren, Russ (Karen) Storey, Stephanie (Aaron) Oliveto, Michael (Leigh) Stalvey, Patrick (Melissa) Stalvey and David (Laura) Hagan; 2 step-grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hagan was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Hubbard and three brothers, Judson Wilson, A. D. Wilson, and Marion Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Quitman on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Quitman or a charity of your choice.
