His Legacy… Donald Rummel was born on April 27, 1923 in Chico, to George and Elizabeth Rummel. He entered heaven on December 12, 2017 at age 94, to be reunited with his wife Thelda, who preceded him in death. He was a WWII veteran recently honored for his service to his country. He worked for the U.S. Department of Forestry-Quincy as a Communications Technician for 30 years. After travelling the U.S., he and his wife established their home on Kelly Ridge in 1985. He was a gifted storyteller, recalling his childhood, military experience and local history with amazing detail and accuracy. He will be greatly missed and his stories will live through generations.
 
His Family… Don is survived by his brother George and wife Shirley, and preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Fullwood and Adele Viales. He is loved by his family of 9 children and their families including 74 grand/greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
His Farewell Service… Graveside Services will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd. Oroville, CA where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. A Celebration of Life will follow at Lake Oroville Event Center, 5131 Royal Oaks Drive, Oroville. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
