Jennie was born a twin, with brother Tom, to Thomas Bohan and Norah Reardon Bohan when the family lived in Laurel, Montana. Jennie and Tom were the youngest of 10 children. The Bohan family moved to Portland, Oregon where Jennie attended Holy Redeemer Elementary and Jefferson High School. She married Don Baird in 1963 and had two children, a son and daughter, while living in Portland. They moved to Ridgefield, Washington where Jennie enjoyed gardening on their 5 acres and planted many interesting items including her famed kiwi plants. She was a crafts person and was known for her fine art skills and sewing abilities. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
