Frances M. Kiesling, almost 97, of St. Louis Park, formerly of Fargo, ND and Gainesville, FL, passed away on Friday, November 24th, 2017 after a short illness. Fran was born at home on a farm near Genoa, Illinois on December 8, 1920. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard; parents, five sisters and one brother. Survived by children, Faye Louise Fjeldseth (Marvin), Gregory Mowers, Frances Kiesling (Sharon Lubinski) and Richard Kiesling (Kris); five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Fran enjoyed a successful career in retail, advancing to assistant manager of McShane's China & Gift Shop, Fargo, and ending as a manager of the china & crystal departments of Crescent Jewelers, Fargo, where she also served as a bridal consultant. Fran was active in social, charity and educational organizations throughout her life and was committed to her family and friends. Proficient in domestic arts, including sewing and tailoring, cooking and preserving food as well as entertaining, Fran passed on her values and skills to her children. Memorial service 1 PM Sunday, December 10th at Washburn-McReavy Edina. Visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Ft. Snelling Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the donor's favorite charity.
